We put our customers and their safety first and always strive for top-notch quality service, while providing adventurous sailing cruises around Vieques. We try to protect the environment in which we work through the use of sustainable business practices, progressive new green technologies, and by giving back to our local community to help foster a better place for us all to live, work and grow.
Services
Sailing voyages aboard our catamaran yacht to discover the offshore magic of Vieques, Puerto Rico. We supply snorkel gear, personal flotation devices, clear bottom double kayaks, paddleboards, as well as fresh local food and drinks prepared aboard ship.
The "Nauti Mermaid" - a 41' Lagoon Catamaran
The Nauti Mermaid is a U.S. Coast Guard documented 41 foot Lagoon luxury sailing catamaran yacht.

"Catamarans offer much more stability and comfort than other types of boats. Catamarans get their stability from their wide beam and two buoyant hulls instead of from the counterweight effect of a lead keel. All sailboats heel, but catamarans not so much. And, because there are two hulls instead of one, boat roll is automatically dampened when it does exist. Stability offshore for most people equals comfort, so by definition catamarans are more comfortable. They are also really roomy. A catamaran has about 20% more interior living space than a typical monohull sailboat of the same length."
The Nauti Mermaid is a fully air conditioned yacht with three spacious cabins, two marine heads, a full galley and a spacious salon. There is ample deck space to lounge including a large trampoline and a shaded cockpit for enjoying meals and cocktails. Our crew would love to host you, your friends and family aboard our beloved yacht!
Our Crew
The Nautical Mermaid Charters crewmembers are all seasoned mariners with First Aid and CPR training and with several certifications from the American Sailing Association. All crewmembers are enrolled in a random drug-testing program and held to the highest standards of professionalism and training in the maritime and ecotourism field. All of our charters have a US licensed Coast Guard Captain aboard as well as native Viequense crewmembers. Our crew looks forward to serving you and sharing with you the magic of Vieques!
Captain Jenny
Captain Jenny grew up on sailboats in South Florida and throughout the Caribbean. She holds multiple American Sailing Association certifications and is a USCG licensed Captain (50 Ton Masters #3540522).
She holds a bachelor's degree in environmental science and has worked at the EPA Headquarters in Washington DC.
Her understanding of environmental science, different ecosystems and their inhabitants provides wide-ranging knowledge to share with guests. Captain Jenny's warm character makes guests feel like welcomed family members aboard ship. Her nautical experience and her ability to lead and react make her an outstanding seafaring captain and crewmember.
Chief Engineer & First Mate Tomas
Chief Tomas was born in Vieques and grew up navigating and fishing the waters around the island. He has extensive maritime experience on a variety of boats and holds multiple American Sailing Association certifications.
Tomas has had formal training with electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems and over a decade of practical hands-on experience. His ability to "fix anything" along with his easygoing friendly demeanor and his extensive boating experience navigating the island make him invaluable to our team.
Tomas is always ready to share his in-depth knowledge of the history and culture of Vieques as well as his expertise and familiarity with the local waters and marine life.
